Botulinum toxin type A (branded under the names Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Jeveau) can be used by injection to relax muscles to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It may also be used preventatively to stop lines from forming. Botulinum toxin type A typically lasts between 3 and 5 months in the upper face depending on dose and brand.
What should I avoid doing after Botox/Dysport?
Do not rub or massage the treated areas for 24 hours after your treatment.
Do not practice Yoga or any type of strenuous exercise for 24 hours after treatment.
Avoid facials or saunas for 24 hours after your treatment.
Do not wear swimming goggles for 24 hours after treatment.
Do not have your eyebrows tweezed, waxed, or threaded for 24 hours after treatment.
Do not lie down for 4 hours after treatment.
Do not where a baseball cap or tightly fitting hat for 24 hours.
Use a GENTLE touch and avoid rubbing during facial cleansing on the evening of your treatment.
In summary, don’t do anything that would logically move the neurotoxin from exactly where it was injected.
