Neck Liposuction
Conveniently located to serve Washington DC, Arlington, Bethesda

How is the procedure performed?
A small incision is made behind the chin point to hide it. We then inject fluid to numb the area and shrink blood vessels. A small liposuction cannula is used to remove fat from the neck, chin area and jawline to sculpt the area. If a tightening procedure is used, we then use the heat based device to induce contraction of the skin.
Recovery
You should be able to return to work and the gym immediately. We will supply you with a “jaw bra” compression device to help with swelling. Swelling/bruising usually resolves in 1-2 weeks. If a tightening procedure is used, it can take several months up to a year to see final results.
Risks
- Injury to other structures – rare, but nerves, blood vessels and other structures are in the area. Some numbness is expected to last a few weeks to a month
- Contour issues – given the thin skin of the neck, there could be areas that are not as smooth
- Inadequate contraction – liposuction and energy based tightening procedures rely on your skin to contract. In some patients their skin may not contract as much as desired. In these cases, an excisional procedure (ie necklift) may be needed.
- Anatomic Limitations – neck liposuction removes fat only. If you have a thick muscular neck, then the results may be more limited
