What is cheek augmentation?
Cheek augmentation increases the volume of your cheeks and shapes your cheekbones. This can be performed with a deeper filler in the office (link cheek filler), fat grafting in surgery for a more long lasting result, or cheek implants for permanent results.
How is this procedure performed?
Cheek implants are placed through an incision in the mouth. These are placed against the cheekbones to increase their visibility. Risks include cheek numbness, infection, shifting of the implants or asymmetry. Fat grafting can be used as an adjunct to the procedure.
Cheek fat grafting uses your own fat to increase cheek volume. Multiple year effectiveness can be produced – sometimes permanent. This fat is removed from localized fat deposits in your abdomen or love handle area most frequently.
Cheek filler is performed in the office and uses filler products to add volume to your cheek. This is performed awake and takes only a few minutes. Results last approximately 12-18 months and will have to be repeated after they dissolve.
